Ceramic and Ionic Technologies Drive the Company's Innovative Product Lines
EL PASO, Texas, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In a characteristic
display of creativity, innovation and marketing know-how, Helen of Troy, a
leading designer, developer and worldwide marketer of brand-name personal care
and personal wellness products, is introducing more than 70 new products at
the 2003 Housewares Show in Chicago in McCormick Place, January 12-14th at
Booth 11347 in the Lakeside Hall.
Mike Reilly, VP Retail Marketing Appliances, Helen of Troy, says, "This is
a landmark year for Helen of Troy. Ion and Ceramic technologies are the
foundations of our product innovation. We are taking cutting-edge technology
features from our professional appliances and incorporating them into products
for the consumer market. And we're doing it at very reasonable cost. In
addition, we're producing products that are, feature by feature, superior to
the competition."
Building on the sustained success that Revlon and Vidal Sassoon hairdryers
with Ionic Technology experienced last year, the company is now expanding that
technology into other categories. For example, Dr. Scholl's will introduce
the Ionic Rejuvenator(TM) Foot Massage. Revlon Spa is bringing to market an
Ion Hot and Cold Facial Sauna and Vidal Sassoon is showing its Gold Series
3-in-1 Ion Steam Straightener with Ceramic Plates and an Ion Rotating Styling
Brush.
Ceramic Technology is a prime example of how Helen of Troy continues to
develop technologies and products that mitigate the damage excessive heat and
chemical treatment can wreak on hair. Helen of Troy's Ceramic Technology
employs Far Infrared Rays that heats hair at an even temperature minimizing
the probability of damage. The Far Infrared Rays deeply penetrate the hair
follicle and heat hair gently and evenly from the inside out, reducing frizz
and drying hair safely in less time than it usually takes to dry your hair.
Ceramic Technology will be seen this year at the Housewares Show in
several of Helen of Troy's new products: Revlon's Ceramic Ion Hairsetter,
Revlon's Ceramic Palm Straightener, Vidal Sassoon's 1875W Digital Ion Ceramic
Dryer and Vidal Sassoon Gold Series 2 1/4" Professional Ceramic Straightener.
Additionally, Revlon's most popular and successful line, Perfect Heat, is
being expanded to include Ceramic Technology in both straighteners and curling
irons.
The 2003 Helen of Troy product line will begin shipping in February and
products will arrive at major drug chains and specialty retail stores in April
2003.
Helen of Troy (Nasdaq: HELE) designs, produces and markets brand-name hair
dryers, curling irons, hair setters, women's shavers, brushes, combs, hair
